Some patients leave the ICU but still need ICU-level attention — a ventilator or oxygen support, close vitals monitoring, tracheostomy care, or management of multiple lines and tubes. Moving that kind of care home is only safe with a nurse who's actually worked in critical care, not general ward experience relabeled for home use.

Our ICU-trained nurses have hands-on critical care experience and are equipped to manage ventilator and BiPAP support, tracheostomy and suction care, central line and catheter management, continuous vitals and oxygen saturation monitoring, and coordination with the treating doctor for any changes in the care plan. This is a step up from our standard home nursing service, and we staff it only with nurses who have actual ICU/critical care background — not general duty nurses.

• Long-term critical care patients (neurological conditions, advanced illness) managed at home
• Post-major-surgery recovery requiring intensive monitoring for the first several days
• Families choosing home-based critical care over prolonged hospital stay, in consultation with their doctor

Given the intensity of this care, we typically recommend 24-hour or 12-hour shift coverage with two nurses rotating, rather than a single visiting nurse — we'll walk you through the right staffing plan based on the patient's condition.
